Depends whether you want 50's jazz / Blues smoothness or a bit more 60's rock.
SD Antiquities are fantastic pickups, compare well with the mid-50's / early 60's Gibson P90's I have.
Shed are great also, a little more gritty than the Antiquities, sound like more like a 1967 set I have which are pure Pete Townsend.
Modern Gibson are very good too, much like their mid / late 60's offerings.
I haven't liked any Bare Knuckle P90's I've tried / heard ... they have an odd harshness to my ears, even their very low wind versions.
Haven't tried either Oil City or Mojo but lots of people on here seem to be happy with them.
Remember, it's easier to criticise than create!
Hey Matt,
I've been using Mojo who are excellent (That's the unit in my '57 Replica) and i've also just tried Oil City, another UK builder who are great too.
If you want to measure my original '55 at any point just let me know :-)

@miserneil what I heard coming from your Junior was awesome. Thanks for the offer of measuring up the '55.
At the moment I'd say I'm swaying on the Gibson/Mojo side.
Marc (Mojo) is a great guy too, PC has/had some of his PAF's in his LP Classic.

That gets my vote!
1. Don't go for super over wound it's the kiss of death... P90s sound most traditional in a narrow window of output.
2. Look for alnico 4 if you have a 'toppy' guitar, or even alnico 3 for it's more compressed, jazzy feel.
3. Upgrade your pots and caps ... particularly on a single pickup junior ... you will be using them lots.
