Dull race, but good result to keep the championship tight.

I'm wanting Vettel to win this year, but pleased for Bottas to be up there.

1st three races of the championship were promising but the russian gp was a festering turd, when eddie jordan was going what a race, i just rolled my eyes

Ha Im sure massa is going to get some heat from vettel after that last lap
It spoilt the end to be fair, he could have let them both through, but effectively ended the race.
I guarantee you felipes actions were a "fuck you ferrari for making me a patsy for schumacher for so many years "
You're thinking of Barrichello, Massa was Schumacher's team mate only for 2006.
Or maybe thinking of Alonso instead of Schumacher - "Fernando is faster than you" etc.

To be fair Alonso tore his arse apart for four seasons straight.

My Sky subscription is on very dodgy ground after Sochi.  I'll give it two more GPs but if they don't get better, that's it.

Defintely a snooze fest.  Like a high speed version of Monaco in that whoever got round the first corner in the lead was probably going to win.  The Sky crew were resorting to "stick with us it might get good later" kind of comments after about 20 laps.

Not a radio call we've heard much since he went to McLaren.

Dullest race in a fair few seasons imo. Oh well. Onward and upward.

As as a lifelong McLaren fan I'm having a pretty poor time of it!
    Red ones are better.

I'd love to know how many on track overtakes there were during the race.

    EDIT: Oh shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit.

Apparently Hamilton was watching Star Wars on his steering wheel screen as he cruised round ...

It was always going to be anticlimactic.  The cars are just as bad if not worse than the old ones were in "dirty" air.  And now the drs is clearly not quite so effective.

Still, they look cool and "go fast".

I don't really complain about f1.  It is what it is, and what it is is not something you watch to see demonstration of great skill behind the wheel or great racing action.

Barcelona next and that is usually one of the most boring races of the season anyway.

It was a tad dull, Sochi isn't really a good track at all. Bottas is a decent driver but he isn't a great, although his pace was decent enough I think Vettel would've had him if it wasn't for Massa at the end. Lewis once again showing signs of the weaknesses he sometimes has, wonder if something was on his mind as this is how he's been in the past. He certainly lacks Vettel and Alonso's focus that's for sure, one of the quickest of all time but lacks application sometimes when things don't run in his favour.

My head said brake, but my heart cried never.

Hamilton had heating problems - Coultard thought something could have been wrong with his radiator which was bouncing around in the race. He wasn't bad in qualifying - just pushed too hard and cocked up. He should think back to what Rosberg used to do ...

Yeah they were alluding to it in the commentary, I just can't help but hear an excuse in this tbh but obviously we can't turn back time and see if Bottas would've had the same issues stuck behind another car. We shall see what happens at Barca a proper track rather than this awful setup in Sochi.

Bottas was better than Hamilton over the weekend but I think it's clear Hamilton had some problems in the race. Lewis was massively off the pace - he wouldn't have won the race but he might have scrapped third, although Kimi was quick so even that could have been an issue. The one thing that is clear though - Ferrari and Mercedes are in a different league from the rest. Shame Red Bull and McLaren can't do better.

Mannnn, I love Monaco just because seeing them throw a ridiculously unsuitable car at high speed around there is amazing. The in car footage always astounds me, the odd crash is always a nice bonus too!

I walked the circuit at Monaco year before last, as they were starting to get ready for the race weekend.

I was amazed at how narrow most of it is, also by how steep a climb it is from Ste. Devote to the Casino Square. I don't think I'd want to drive it at GP speeds!
