the block inlays would look better as parallelograms slanted so as to match the body & headstock shape. if that's a mirror finish scratchplate then I definitely approve

Would have to be the '58 reissue for me. I may have a saunter to Guitar Guitar at the weekend, they've currently got an aged natural '58 in stock.

It's close to being the perfect explorer for me, but..

Headstock should be black and bound

Gold tuners needed

Pickup rings should be black

Pickguard should be black

Black speed knobs

Basically less gold and more in-line with a Les Paul Custom (in Alpine White)

Having checked one of these out in person, I can confirm that I will not be breaching my rule. It was a decent feeling explorer but in truth it just looked tacky-tacky, rather than the cool-tackiness of a Gretsch in similar colours. Not enough about it to justify the price tag IMO.
