In the
Gas 2014 thread from earlier in the year one of the things I said I wanted was a strat I could get on with. I also said that I reckoned only something like a Custom Shop strat or a Nash would do it, and that was there was sod all chance of me getting one.
Well I got a small tax rebate, sold some stuff and TAH DAH!!!
Custom Shop Relic '66 Strat in Teal Green Metallic (they had it labeled LPB). It was sitting in a local shop for a few months. Played it every time I went in. I was thinking I wanted a rosewood board, but I have to admit to myself I love the feel of a chunky maple neck. The price was right so BOOM! Strat itch well and truely scratched! Still can't quite believe I've dropped that amount of money on a guitar, let alone on a strat, but it was pretty reasonablefor a CS jobby (a little over £1200 (€1600)) and I *love* how it looks. The big headstock with the small logo, the color, the level of relicing. The pickups are slightly underwound too, and sound amazing. It's got a 3 way switch with I might, MIGHT change. I never ever used 2 and 5 on previous strats so I suspect I may never need to.
Very, very pleased with myself.

I really enjoy playing guitars with maple neck fingerboards, and that goes so well with the body colour.
