Great documentary on youtube.

What a legend - 10000 sessions!

Amazingly, she now plays an Ibanez SRZ700 bass and an Ibanez RG321 guitar and gives private skype lessons for $50!!

So, the lessons for me are
-  I have too many guitars, amps, effects (and gear generally)
- you don't need a jazz guitar to play jazz
- I could have guitar lessons from a living legend for £30!

Just saying!

  • that was awesome.
The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.

The humble way she describes her career progression kind of passes around the fact that she must have been bloody good at doing whatever anyone put in front of her on the day.

    What a skill!

Big fan of Carol's, she's great, but this must be the first time I've heard anyone describe her as "humble"!
