So, just swung a deal to have a new head to use at home, which I've been banging on about wanting to sort out for yonkees.

Anyways, I'm a wee bit stumped about a couple pedals I could add to my board but my next phase of lust will have to be firmly aimed at guitars guitars guitars.

I reckon if I can gather a:

Les Paul Custom in black with silver hardware, p90 in neck and Bigsby (ideally custom built in Britain, but Gibson if not),

A 90s Les Paul DC Special in TV yellow,

A non Floyd high end super strat,

An EJ strat,

Another Tele of some sort,

A relatively low cost Jaguar,

A relatively low cost Gretsch,

And an 8 string Ibanez.

Then I'd be happy.

Ooh, maybe one of those slime finish Dimebag Washburns....

What about you? Do you see an end in sight or are you one of the "lucky ones"?

    I've only just started (again).

I sold most of my nice guitars when money was tight, a lovely '02 les Paul, Jap Tele, gorgeous Washburn, resonator, tak acoustic etc etc

Now our own bosses and making a decent living, I cant replace the keepers I had to sell but I can try :D

I've got my dream LP, my good LP, my sg, acoustic but still want a junior, a Tele and something a bit more metal, maybe an explorer.

I sold all mine a few years back too so that I could buy a house.

Which reminds me, an SG too, preferably black, with a Bigsby.

I had a black Custom once upon a time which I loved but I'm thinking more a Baja or a '52 reissue again when I have money again.

I'm thinking build my v and get that sounding nice. Re wire my stratalike and build/buy a bass and I'll be happy. For a few hours at least

I've had close to 30 guitars and now that I have a mortgage etc, I'll be slowing down. If I never got another guitar then I'd be ok with that considering that I love all my guitars that I now have.

Honestly if I had more disposable income I'd have a Tele, Lowden Acoustic, more USA Jacksons and Prs' but I have no idea where I'd get the £7000ish I'd need to buy them all.

Ah acoustics....How could I forget all of them!?!?

  • It's very much possible to reach the end of the road. I'm basically there with guitars (just waiting for my second Jaden Rose to arrive and that's the lot), I've found the perfect amp (Soldano Decatone, but a spare might be nice).

Now I'm sorting out the effects situation...currently in the process of going half-MIDI/half-pedals to simplify my life on stage. It'll probably be a while until I've found the exact right setup - I'm starting with a G-Major and building from there - but I have every confidence that I'll get there eventually.

After that...it's probably all about experimenting with odd stuff, like extended range guitars.

I once got that reply when I asked a guy how is weight loss was going.

As to the O.P's question, I'm tight fisted enough to tell myself that I am satisfied.

  • GAS is NEVER satisfied

I once said that an LP, SG, 335 would satisfy me

then I wanted (still neeeed) an ES-175, and stone me I've added 330 to the list together with various other semis and archtops.

    I say

    GAS is NEVER satisfied

I'm really happy with my lot at the minute, as well I should be. My new Mesa hasn't totally killed amp GAS (I still lust after a Silverface DRRI) but the Mesa and my pedal setup does everything I need so brilliantly that I can't imagine anything else being my main rig.

My pedalboards have been pretty stable for a while now. I'm still going to be buying things like more fuzzes, weird modulations etc that I don't strictly need but would like to have, but I don't really NEED anything else now. Apart from one of those MXR Univibes.

Guitar-wise, there's still loads of stuff I want but I can't complain - I've got pretty much all bases covered that I need, especially once the V has its mini-humbuckers added. I do want a nice bass and acoustic though.

I need a LP in my life, then after that I will need an SG, then after that I will need a second pedal board because I need a board to just be able to grab and gig (this is my excuse we all know any board within reason can be used quickly but my wife, she doesn't know this)

I'd like an Ibanez George Benson, a high end Jem, another Strat (with EMG pickups), a Suhr, a Tom Anderson, another Tele (w/Bigsby), Tele w/B bender, Lowden acoustic, Jaguar, good nylon string.

That's before we start on Amps. Or Bass gear.

At least I feel pretty much done with pedals :-)

Fact is pretty much none of it would make me a better player than taking some lessons in a style outside of my current skill set ...

I whole heartedly protest at the notion that GAS is ever satisfied. WTF would 'we' do if it was? Spend more time with the kids and Mrs? Pffffff.   ;)
