Jon Lord (RIP) used to live about 15 miles away.

As did another of the coolest guys then - George Harrison.

Jannick Gers lives near me; never did go for that drink with him.
    ...That'll be Hambleden then...

Have you got Tilt, the album that Scott Walker track is from?

They're all great IMO, and he normally ends up playing guitar on the last track of his albums rom Tilt onwards. The best one of these is "The Day the Conducator Died", an evocative festive song about the assassination of  ex-Romanian dictator Ceuasescu.
    ;)

Yeah I've got Tilt the title track is surprisingly accessible. And the guitar?! Is that him?

I'd hardly call myself a massive fan - early or later stuff.

I like the bits I like!

Yeah it's him. I believe that a lot of even the more elaborate studio recordings from the late 60s with orchestras and the like often started as songs he wrote on the guitar, and then passed on to his collaborators/ arrangers.

But on the more recent records it is him playing on the starker voice/ guitar album closing tracks.

For the full band works they are session players.

He's been doing that for a while. IMO he stole the show when he shared vocals with Clapton on one track at a live show. Has some new stuff out too I think.

Brill interview on R4 coupla month ago too. And I do like that twin humbuckered Strat he has.
