  • Every guitarist needs a RAT pedal at some point. I think I would like another one. Nostalgia and all that!

I got one of the white face re-issues last week and it's really nice, especially into a fender type scooped amp.

For me, it's the definitive distortion pedal. I like the current rat2, it's my go to pedal for gained up tones

Very versatile pedals but I think you need a bit of patience to get just the right sound for you. I use my old rat as a light OD but that's only 'cos I'm not that keen on high gain.

    Or maybe one of these:

  • I have been putting this hardwire through the paces and i'm extremely impressed with it. It's is very versatile and goes from a nice very light break up to some great heavy rock/shred tones. I love it. Super tweakable too. The two switching options are very different and it's like having 2 pedals in one. The voltage is bumped up to 15v on these internally so you get load of headroom. Really great fo the money. I'll be keen to try the green hardwire overdrive too based on how good this is. Highly recommended.

I had one, never bonded with it, shifted it pretty quickly. I'd describe it as "Fizzy". The Rat I mean.

I just wonder how the hardwire compares to my ds-2. Gotta be different enough to warrant the purchase!

RAT's are cool, but I prefer them on bass guitar.

i have the sc-2. i'd say try before you buy. its great and all but you gotta get yourself to a guitar shop, choose an amp like yours at home and try all the distortions. There'll be one there that'll be just perfect for you AND your neighbours :)
