Cheapo SG Modding/Upgrade Fun - Suggestions, Please!

Today, I picked up a Vintage SG for the princely sum of £20.





For that price, it was missing one tuner (key only, not broken - in an ideal world, I'd have one in my spares stash, but I don't), the retaining nut from one pot and the knob from said pot. The remaining three skanky strings were removed prior to cleaning.

Other than the above, it seems in reasonable (if a little worn) nick.

Ripe for some mods/upgrades, methinks - suggestions, please?

Now that was a bargain. I put iron gear blues engine & dirty torque pickups in a similar burny sg and it sounded great

Zappa-fy it! Parametric mid boost for that "stink of a too-loud electric guitar".

Skull knobs, flame decals, devil's horns, turn it into the SG from hell!  \m/

That looks a lot like mine (which I picked up for £50, although that did include a stand and an amp )
Mine is "pre-Wilkinson" ie the hardware isn't Wilkinson branded.
Only thing I've upgraded on mine so far is the wiring and pots with a kit from axtetec. Didn't want to spend silly money it's a £50 guitar!
The pickups on mine are actually half decent and it holds tuning just fine.
Oh, I put proper SG knobs on it as well, because they make it sustain better.

Put an effect in it, and a pickup between the bridge and the stopbar.

The hardware on this isn't Wilkinson branded either.

Bigsby may be a good idea (I've got a few boxed B5 clones tucked away).

Pickups - a P90 in the middle position? Could be interesting!

I've now found a spare machine head, sorted the pot but and knob and picked up a set of strings, so I'll set it up tonight and see how it sounds/feels 'as is' first.

I actually have that combination spare in the flat at the moment, in the 'reliced' finish that IG do; could be persuaded to part with 'em for the right money...
