Seymour Duncan JB vs Suhr Aldrich Video

I was switching the JB out of my Charvel today to put in a Suhr Aldrich so i thought it was a good opportunity to record each one in exactly the same settings/EQ etc back to back.

Anyway here goes, forgive my shitty editing it's the sounds that count!

They both sounded good, I preferred the JB as it was a bit dirtier, the Suhr was clearer though.

I much prefer the Duncan. The Suhr sounds muddy, like the tone control has been turned down.

haha is ken burns that shitty effect i had on there, i tried to turn it off but couldn't find the setting!

I'm a big fan of the jb, it's not ideal for the stuff I play these days though. I still still have one in a box though, just need a guitar to put it in.....

I prefer the Duncan in the video but I've swapped Duncan pickups out of most of my guitars for Suhr SSH+, SSV+ and Aldrich pickups.

You need to change your amp settings, drop the gain in the amp for sure.
