Oil City: Fifty Shades of Grey Bottom!

A little while ago I did a restoration on an early 1967 'grey bottom' Tele pickup ... and was so impressed with the little beastie that I have built an exact replica for your delectation ... and for sale too :-)

To be known as the Oil City Summer Of Love ... this uses hand scatter wound, vintage plain enamel wire ... laid on nitro lacquered flat-work, and wound to a shade under 7k. For this model I have gone for a period correct, copper plated baseplate ... slightly lighter in weight than my normal ones, and the correct white and black 'push-back' hookup wire. 

This is full twang Tele with all the 'boing' left in. I love Bill Kirchin's brand of Dieselbilly ... and this pickup nails that sound perfectly! Tele squared!
