Hello all, Well in NY at the moment. Off to see some jazz at Smalls tonight. Went to west 48th street to check out the music shops and to my shock and horror they are all closed down. Then whole block is to be ripped down. So no more Manny's music shop. ;0( The place is a lot quieter than I was expecting. And in the flesh the sky scrappers don't actually appear that big,

Manny's has moved to SoHo, and improved.  Well worth a visit.

Been to fantastic little jazz club in Greenwich village called Smalls. Tiny little place. Saw a great guitarist call Paul Bollenback. Check him out

Check out Chelsea Guitars in...er....Chelsea.    Next door to the infamous Chelsea Hotel (which is also worth a look).

Great little shop and the guys who work in there are double friendly.

55 Bar also in Greenwich Village is cool. Mike Stern plays there when he isn't touring. $10-$12 entrance for music

For a pedal Junkie, Ludlow Guitars on the Lower East side (ludlow street) is amazing. Alos loads of cools bars and restaurants there

Went to Chelsea guitars, some nice vintage stuff, pity about the staff reminded me of Denmark Street.
Tomorrow is Sam Ash (who originally bought Manny's) guitar centre and east village music store.
Had a massive pancake breakfast this morning not had to eat all day.

Oh. That's a shame. Must have been different guys to when I was there a couple of years ago. They couldn't have been nicer. They recommended other shops and I walked out with loads of stickers and picks etc.
