You might find something like this from a car parts supplier - things like this are often used for fittings & dashboard lights etc. Even if they're 12V they will probably work fine, just slightly less bright, and last longer - I always use 12V bulbs in things like Fender jewel lamps for that reason.

There are some that are 6V as well, although they don't look identical - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WEDGE-BASE-CAPLESS-DASHBOARD-BULB-6-VOLT-6V-1-0-WATT-1W-P284-284-x-10-/290674742114

Stupid design to be honest. I'd probably replace them with a white LED and a resistor and be done with it for good...

@ToneControl I got mine from a jukebox parts supplier, there are used in jukeboxes and pinball machines, was about 2 quid for 10 as I recall, I'll see if I can find a link...

Here you go, my Black Cat has 555 bulbs in it, 6.3v 250mA. They should work fine in the Hot Cat, will just be a bit brighter. Only downside was there is a £5 minimum order so I had to order a set of PacMan fridge magnets too....went down a storm with my little lad!

The previous owner of my BC had 'modified' the holders and wedged a screw-in build holder into the original spade holders and taped them in so he could use more readily available screw in bulbs....one way around the problem I suppose!

Ive just been into the workshop to see if I could find the spares to send you, save you having to make up the order but as usual, just when you want something, it disappears into thin air! :x

Forgive me but what are these bulbs for? The logo light? Is this only for older models?

I would wonder if it was a standard 12V auto bulb running a bit dim on the 6.3 volts as it looks just like a side light bulb for many cars and it looks just like the sidelight bulbs i have to change on the girlfriend's Honda...

Take the bulb with you into Halfords and see.....
