We got the new Allen & Heath QU16 and now we got the digital snake. No more multicore, the 24 sends and 12 returns do their thing on one single Cat 5 cable .... awesome!

And now I'm using  one of these

You connect it via Cat 5 and instantly your in control of your own monitor mix. Want more of your guitar  in your ears just press the key you assigned to that channel and you can adjust the volume,pan it left or right. Adjust the EQ if you want,set a limiter if you want.  But the real icing on the cake is the unit has 2 built in ambient mics ..... with their own volume control to feed in that crowd vibe. You can daisy chain one unit to another so the whole band can control their own iem or wedge mix. Come with a bracket that clips to you mic stand so you can adjust things easily
