Fuzz Factory. I bought mine 2000, it's seen off a Big Cheese, Big Muff and Graphic Fuzz.

Failing that, the enormous contraption @juansolo once made... the Lament Configuration I think?

Contains two of my favourite fuzz circuits, both of which are hard to come by - the Ibanez Standard Fuzz and the Roland Bee Baa. Plus others. And look at it... it's just so cool. Packed full of stuff but it looks intuitive and I bet it sounds fucking incredible.

    Do want.
That's my 'other' fuzz pedal ;) See I've only got two really...

Actually I've been quite smitten with the Megalith of late... *blushes*

I do at the moment. I sold off several a week after the D*A*M Dopepriest came. Not even close. I've another D*A*M coming 'cause one fuzz is never enough.

If we're classing muffs as fuzz then I'd probably second @Gassage with the Vick Ram's Head - it's an absolute belter. Otherwise, it would be the deluxe Lunar Module for a complicated/buffered board or a good fuzz face like the Analogman Sunface or Jam Fuzz Phrase for a simpler board.

@gassage where did you buy it - directly from the manufacturer?

Yeah, he is as good as gold. £36 in import duty etc.

Ask for him to do the 'Bjorn' mod. (Bjorn off Gilmourish)

have a wisdom for great taste.

I must confess I don't remember what it was like in a band context.  I just remember how many different sounds I could get, and how great they all were

It is a bright clip - the result is the nearest thing I have ever heard to the Daddy of Big Muffs, the Cornish P1. And I have both the Vick and the P1 and there's abut 2% difference (and £400!)

At the moment I am loving the Harmonic Percolator clone that my mate built for me based on a Poodle Parts kit I think.
Whatever it is, it's brilliant! It's modded so that the clipping diodes can be switched out to have just the Germanium fuzz. Sounds nice and fat as a straight fuzz, and switching in the diodes makes it into one of those nasty, spattering fuzzes that cuts through like a bonesaw. Winding back the volume on the guitar actually cleans the sound up very nicely.
It works very well n conjunction with other drives. Which is just as well. I haven't had the opportunity to try it in a band setting yet - got that to look forward to this week.

Just to add, me and A Famous Lead Guitarist in a Famous Tribute Band of the Prog Rock Era (no names, no packdrill) backed to back the Vick and the Cornish P1. Blindfolded (which was quite horny, but leaving that aside...) neither of us could tell them apart.

I've always loved the Harmonic Percolator circuit. It's no coincidence one of the first pedals introduced to the Fredric Effects range was an accurate clone of the HP. Without the clipping diodes engaged it doubles as a great overdrive with tons more character than the usual TS-clones.
