Here at Rothko and Frost we've been making custom decals and guitar bodies for years alongside our stock of materials and supplies - indeed, we started out making decals and it all went from there!

We've now started up an offshoot, Custom Luthier Supply (check out www.customluthiersupply.com), as a focus for all of our existing and new customisable products.

What we can offer includes:

Some items such as decals and badges can be ordered through the site. Other products where the complexity varies a lot, such as the veneers and fingerboards, please contact us to discuss your requirements.

We make everything in-house in our studio in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire.

@DrBob - yes, absolutely. If you can send us a photo or scan of your design we can digitise it and then do whatever you please, whether inlay, decal, pockets etc. There's an artwork fee for redrawing but we're pretty quick these days!

@RothkoAndFrost - Can you do custom shaped truss rod covers? You did an engraved on for me before, but need something not off the shelf this time.

Also, do you do pick guards yet?

@PVO_Dave an actual size JPG with the truss rod cover in black and background in white would be ideal, if possible.

Yes, we can do pickguards, but don't currently have a massive range of materials to choose from - our supply is bobbing on the ocean somewhere! What do you need?

@RothkoAndFrost - Great, I'll send that over.

3 ply black white black would likely do for the pickguard, but it's bigger than A4 size, would that be an issue?

Have used R&F for decals in the past with great service, they even went to the trouble of making the very thin decals less idiot-proof for this idiot.

We've done a video guide for applying the decals as well, check it out on YouTube here:

Another video will be up soon showing spraying over and finishing the decal - as dindude says they're really thin, so require minimal work to hide the edges.

While we finish editing the video tutorial on lacquering over decals, thought you might be interested to see the speedy uncut filming. Picture at the end is of the headstock once lacquered - edge of decal gone, hasn't even been sanded yet.

Recieved 2 beautiful gold and silver custom decals today in the post, un-fecking-believable! the quality is simply gorgeous, Thanks @SimonRF
I used the blank tester piece cut into a few shapes first, I can't believe how thin these are, thinner than Victoria Beckham!
I'll definately be coming back for more of the same for my own guitars.
