For a long time I have wanted to make a line of proper Gretsch sized Filtertron style pickups ... to compliment my Oil City Cow-T-Ron regular humbucker sized ones. After a few false starts ... looks like I'm pretty much there.
They are normal 'G' size, and are a drop in replacement for Gretch, and Cabronita style instruments, and feature my specially made 1/4 inch thick, 'double thickness' magnets (as used in the 50s originals). At the moment chrome is the only finish ... but I'm working on getting others.
The first set off the blocks is a 'classic output set, 4.7k bridge, 4.5k neck. Coming soon will be a hotter set ... maybe with alnico 8 for extra kick!, and possibly a'blade' version.
These will form part of my new 'Masterwound series'.
