Hi there

Could anyone recommend a make of acoustic for around the £250 price tag? My styles incorporate both strumming and finger style.

  • Taylor GS Mini is the obvious shout & should be doable second hand for £250.

Vintage make some wonderful acoustic guitars for around that budget. I have a Paul Brett signature 12 string & it's the best acoustic I've owned. The six string is equally good.

I second this. I had a used Sigma 000M-15 and it was fantastic. Probably shouldn't have sold it.

If you like strumming and fingerstyle certainly consider a 45mm (1 3/4) nut width. Depending on your finger size it might just make things a little more comfortable/enjoyable.

m Thanks for your advice my friend. I don't know much about 'nut widths' etc, so would you be kind enough to explain a little more please?? As for finger size, long, thinnish. Trev

  • If it doesn't need to be new I would highly recommend a Taylor Big Baby. I picked mine up recently for £200 second hand and I love it. I had a Gison Sheryl Crow previously which was like 10x the price but not 10x the playability. It's my go to lounge strummer now
