What's Hot
Anybody using one of these (the compact model) and what do think. I'm currently using an SIB mr echo which is on its last legs so I'm looking to replace it soon. And how good is the looper? Or any other recommendations. Cheers!

I am still a delay novice but this is a great pedal, lots of very usable delay options for whatever you need. My favorite is the delay with modulation, for a huge soundscape. Haven't used the looper so much but it does what it says on the box.

Toneprint option is cool. especially with the editor where you can mess with it and make your own.

Thumbs up for it from me.

  • Brilliant. Very versitle out of the box and the toneprints adds another dimension.

  • Fantastic pedal, best sounding Swiss Army knife delay I've ever used.

Possibly. But maybe not, but one worth considering is the zoom ms70cdr.

By all accounts, this is supposed to be sex in a pedal.

I'm guessing you're going used, as they're about £40 less than a flashback!

Fair enough though. Toneprints are unique and amazing...

    Ooohhhhhh...

Haha wait till you get into the toneprint editor ;) the flashback is probably a bit more straightforward to get your head around though.

Extremely good move, mate. Best delay I've ever had...and probably the best you can get short of the Eventide and Strymon uber-expensive pedals.

The only thing it's missing from my POV is a multi-tap mode.

  • Any views on the looper?

  • The looper's decent enough, but you don't have control over the loop level and no undo/redo feature, but still it's an added extra for a delay pedal so maybe that's asking too much (personally I use the TC Ditto in combination with my TC Alter Ego (a Flashback special edition).

I was told the Flashback and x4 were one of the few delay pedals that doesn't trash your tone

I now have two X4s. They really do have the least negative effect when adding delay that I've heard, much much better than a DL4 for example. I think the sounds are the same with the smaller one, just fewer presets

I have a Flashback X4, amd I'm really taken with it. The toneprint editor/phone app is a total gimmick but really cool.

  • had a strymon timeline had an eventide sold the flashback instantly missed it bought another one, takes couple of mins to dial in your presets to your taste ,save go then gig, sounded great as per usual,

waiting for the tc toneprint m9 killer to come out, reckon its on the horizon soon!

    If it did

    A) self oscillation
    B) tap tempo

Id have one on my board now, but I need that sound.

There are toneprints that self oscillate. I use the Pete Thorn Modulated Delay.
