I seem to have slipped and accidently stuck myself into a gigging band playing ...(gulp)..folk music

Sit down children and I'll tell you a tale of how Im going to end up rubbing shoulders with the Mumfords' and the Levellers. It all started 3 weeks back when I recieved a telegram from a mate needing a basser to back him at a folk open mic night in Feb. He'd being asked to host the evening and do 4 or 6 songs. So I says yes as I'd be paid well in beer and not be driving. So we have the first practice at his house, but by this time he's added a two more guys on mandolin and Bodran (my mate on singing / guitar / bazouke). First practice goes well and the 6 songs we've chose sound pretty good. Then the next week he tells us that the goal posts have moved and he wants us to record the songs for a CD cos in his opinion 'our versions have more balls than the orginals which are a bit wet'. The then last night he tells us that he's booked us for another gig on St.Paddy's night and touted us out to load of Festivals that he played with his old band (Real Ale festivals, Dorset Steam Fayer, etc etc). I have now stopped shaving, grown elbow patches, and developed a tendancy to stick a finger in my ear when singing. The end.

Plus the body count in folk is typically higher per song than gangsta rap if you're doing it right. Nothing a Floyd rose could improve there.
