Dannis Kayzer and Mike Hermans of Prymaxe are the best IMO. Pete Thorn is a cracking player, i don't care much for Gearmandude personally

Mike Hermans kicks everyones arse upside down for me in the demo front. From a review perspective.....I dunno to be honest but again Mike shows every aspect of use and range of sounds, he is after all trying to sell you this gear.

Btw: orders over $495 on effects at Prymaxe get 20% off at the moment.

the acoustic guitar reviews at soundpure are amazing
they mic up acoustics properly, often test them in 3 different styles, and supply hi-res versions if you ask
I think it's part of their business model, since they are not in a big city I think, and must do a lot by mail

I'd rather see and hear what a pedal can do, that's usually review enough for me, Mike does this in a really creative way too.

Can anyone think of a good review site for the lower end of the scale, other than MR? Guitars at about £300 or so? Personal reviews tend to be a bit "OMG it's got humbuckers!"

    Ooh dear!!

I didn't realise this.  This is worse than the day Ma admitted there was no Santy Claus.

I'm also slightly fucked off as I kinda thought I'd be able to get a Strymon Mobius for £220.

    Looks like they're exempt.

  • I'm really liking PGS' new app/magazine - looks like they've paired up with Premier Guitar I think, or stolen Rebecca Dirks;

It's a brilliant interface, really nice to read with some great stuff in the first issue - the subscription is free too! :)

can she play guitar, or is she simply a pro journalist specialising in our depraved needs?

Ooh, downloading now. I wonder where she'd be off to post-PG.

From twitter she comes across as much a gear-nut as the rest of us. She's also been making 12XA7 baubles...

  • Holy crapola! I've got a box of old TV/Radio valves here that I'm never going to use, might have to make a few* of those!

Rebecca isn't much of a player, but has self-confessed pedal-lust, so that's good. Plus, she's been with PG since the start and seems to do a lot of the editing etc.

     *Hmm, I wonder if there's a market? ;)

    Justnick (Nick Jaffe)
    Brett Kingman
    Mark Lucas from Nstuffmusic

The problem is that they usually only do expensive gear and as a result, I GAS from things that I can't afford..
