Looking for just for fun band/musicians SE London

Just looking to get together with a few like minded peeps for just a bit of fun.
Have a job+kids so not looking for anything serious.
Play guitar (blues/rock) fairly well and have good gear and transport.
Can groan a backing vocal if need be.

  • Hi,

Im in North London, just a guitarist- no band. But I'm pretty much up for anything. If you wanted to get together on a weekend for jam or some such?

I don't drive unfortunately, but maybe we could meet somewhere inbetween?

  • Just copied this from my other thread.
Happy to blues it up with u if thats ur thing:

" Heavily influenced by the whole black music scene circa 1950's onwards and all the fruits thereof; british blues (Early Clapton, Fleetwood Mac),  classic rock (Led Zepp, Free) love me some Bowie, Lou Reed and Iggy Pop, The Doors etc.  Huge Van Morrison fan actually. Anything close to the root is good.I'm interested in more contemporary stuff too; grew up with grunge and 90's american rock; love Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Blind Melon, NIN.Recently been listening to Grizzly Bear, Radiohead, Arcade Fire, Alabama Shakes, Ben Howard; the list goes on."

    What do u recon?

@Axe_meister I'm in Crystal Palace / Anerley area.

I cannot sing, I can do a passable impression of David Bowie though. I know two drummers, one has 'retired' and the other is in at least two bands. I'll ask anyway.

@Shark_eyes just up the road then. I know a drummer but he's only 9 ;0).
I have a small studio in the back of my garden with a cheap electronic drum kit a couple of guitar amps and a guitar/bass rack rig.

@Axe_meister sounds super cool, would it be ok to use your bass rig for practices? I've got a massive 4x10 cabinet that pretty much gives me a hernia from looking at it. It's actually on sale in the classifieds currently.

    Not for Radiohead
The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.

This still going? I'm also SE London Greenwich/Blackheath way with guitar, amp and wheels. Some reasonable guitar supplemented with enthusiasm and ability to make a mean cuppa.
