btw Hats off to the village chippy in the peaks who offered me a Mushy pea batty a few years back (I ate it of course)

I've never before had to reconcile Jamaican patois, northern English cuisine and an extra layer of batter

Much more convenient to eat than mushy peas alone though, I have no idea why this idea is not sweeping the nation

Though we could probably be more female friendly I think as DS says we probably just reflect the number of female guitarists out there. 

I've never in my life auditioned a single female bass player, or guitarist, or played with, or auditioned for a band that had one (and I've been in shit loads of bands) and most of the girls I know that can play are more interested in it as a backing to their singing not as something for its own ends.

Sadly very little chips these days due health issues, so ironically eating healthy these days.

Is the male- female ratio on places like guitar forums a result not only of typical hobbies ( fairly sure a greater % of men play guitar than % of women) buy also

I have some tests in January on my heart , no immediate problem just that the same heart condition killed my father and my brother so I am in a high risk group. Fairly confident that whatever the outcome of the tests the advice will eat less, do more exercise. So, obviously, I have interpreted this as eat what I like for the next couple of weeks...

I always flippantly say that there are 2 kinds of bloke, those that like to watch lots of sport and chill out, and those who like to busy themselves up with interests, can you imagine many women pimping up their cars, car hi-fis, going mad about audiophile hifi, spending £5k on lycra and mountain bikes?  I think a lot guitarists are in this busy-busy category, and it's fair to say that fewer women have the drive to master special interests and hobbies as obsessively.  Still though, we are often a bit down-the-pub-blokey on here, so we will have scared away ladies with no patience for that

Sorry to hear that though @EricTheWeary and I hope all goes well for you. I lost both my parents to heart problems so can sympathise with you there.
