24 last year, on course for 27 this year. That's pub covers and a few parties plus the odd wedding.

With work and family an average of around 2 a month suits me fine.

No more than two per month. We have lives, wives, children, and some of the band have jobs to hold down.

Less than 20 because I don't play for free.
I could gig a whole lot more if I was prepared to compromise on this, but I just can't be arsed.

  • Maybe 60? If every month is like October then more like 80 ish.

Full time work as well. I'm permanently knackered.

  • This year...7 (including depping once for my old band from a few years back). That's mainly because I pitched a fit in April and quit the band, leading to the whole band giving up. We're now getting back together, but probably won't start gigging again until next year (new bassist).

    In a normal year...20-30.

About 60-70... that's 70% one band, 25% the other, and the rest odd deps. Only two freebies this year so far.

These "how much do you gig" threads can be a little bit divisive sometimes... those who don't stay quiet, or can feel defensive.

To be honest I don't see playing a lot of gigs as a badge of honour or proof of anything anymore. Some of my most creative times have been when I've been bandless. I know a professional guitar player - you know him too - who will not pick up his guitar between paying gigs, ever. So it's a funny old thing  :)

  • Last year, 4 - which is double the previous year.  Hoping to continue the trend...

Excluding orchestral appearances, 0.033 or once in 30 years, oddly for me i quite enjoyed it, its just that despite being in a band since we never managed a paying gig before disbanding!

Prob around 6-8. As an originals band, it seems really hard to get gigs where you don't have to sell a number of tickets (or pay to play as it's more commonly referred to). Would happily play more, but don't know the best way to go about it.

Between 100 and 110 ish, spread across 6 bands. Some very well paid some not so great money wise. It makes up about 70% of my income

About one a month, just for a bit of fun. As long as I get the petrol money for rehearsals back I'm happy :)

According to my Google calendar, 77 in the last 12 months, which is spread over three main bands.  It's been that way since I got lured back into the pub covers circuit a couple of years ago...

Also includes a few occurrences of two gigs in one day.

If only they were all good earners!

I reckon maybe about 90 to 100 ish all told. A couple of bands take care of about 75% of the gigs, then a duo and 3 other bands between them the rest. Most of the gigs not very well paid, but the odd one is.
