just been listening to the new album, Like an Arrow. It certainly isn't a let down, I love the track Sunrise in Texas. They are coming to a venue near me in April and I can't wait to see them live. Anyone else into them? Going to see them on their tour next year?
Tomorrow will be a good day.

Love 'em! Been a big fan for ages...and then Charlie messaged me on Instagram yesterday asking if I wanted to sell him my Telecaster :-)

    I've watched this numerous times:

I have that on DVD too, I can watch it over and over and never get bored. Have you heard the new album? It's a blinder! So looking forward to seeing them live.

I'm hoping for a new live DVD featuring their new stuff, I'm sure they won't disappoint.
Tomorrow will be a good day.

  • I have The Whippoorwill on CD.
I got Holding All the Roses on iTunes the other day, which I loved.
I listened to samples of Like an Arrow and wasn't sure about it so I haven't got it yet. So do I need to take a chance on it, if I like HATR and Whippoorwill? It's relatively cheap on iTunes atm, the new one that is.

I still find it odd that they are on Earache  A label that was once essential.

Can't  really get into them all that much.

They have put three songs from the album on YouTube as a taster, I really like the album, well worth buying.

  • Can't get into them. But then Southern/bordering on country rock does nothing for me.

They're rockier than I expected them to be, but still countrier than I'd like.  Agreed with Reverend, it's odd that they're on Earache.

    Necrothread!

Went to see them in Dublin on Saturday and easily the best live band I've seen in years.  Just epic stuff and what a fine collection of guitars and amps.
Highly recommended if you get the chance!

I subscribe to the Qello.com app on Amazon Prime. One of the best live concerts I've seen on that app was Blackberry Smoke.

I'd like to go to one of their gigs.
    It's not a competition.

I saw them in Birmingham last night, and they were great. Great sound, and musicianship.

Was at Birmingham last night, Charlie borrowed a couple of my guitars for the show, I thought they were superb. Both Charlie and Paul are SUPERB players and really nice guys too.

Cool, was that your engraved Tele?

The only issue I had was it started so early! I missed most of the support band (who were good for the 2 songs I caught). Why don't venues have to post stage times!

No, he used my '56 TV Special and '65 Firemist Gold Telecaster. Both he and Paul  are massive vintage gear heads and we spent ages swapping guitar stories and tales of the road. Such down to earth guys.

The early start is unavoidable in the academy/02 venues as on weekends they insist on havin a 'clubnight' afterwards. I personally hate working weekend gigs in them, no sooner has the gig finished, they are on a mission to get you out of the door as soon as possible so the DJ can set his decks up and they can charge another load of people to come in as the gig crowd leaves. I didn't agree with it, I think it's just greedy but I see why they do it from a business point of few.
