Plugged it in an hour ago and tried to record using Capture Duo, but had no success recording anything.

Will try tomorrow evening and will follow this video to see what I'm doing wrong.

  • @duotone How frustrating! When I bought my iTwo I took a look at Capture Duo and Studio One. They both looked solid to me, but not enough for me to replace what I already use - on iOS I was already using GarageBand (on iPad) and Multitrack DAW (on iPhone and iPad). On my Mac, I'm using Logic - mainly because I've been collaborating in Logic with friends who live too far away to meet with very often. They already used Logic so I just did the same for ease of use. I think if I'd had a PC, Studio One v3 would have been absolutely fine as an alternative.

I take it you're having no problems using the iTwo as an audio interface to play back pre-recorded music?

@duotone - this will most likely be a basic setup issue, the usual initial is that the main outs are set to 1&2, and need changing to L&R, send me pm if your stuck, Im sure we can sort it

Didnt bother using the IPad tonight & instead used my laptop & registered the product on the Presonus website & watched some of the beginner setting up videos on their website, which were useful.

    From the videos advice I have now set;
Sound --> Playback --> Speakers to the AudioBox USB iTwo Audio
Sound --> Recording --> Line -->  to the AudioBox USB iTwo Audio

Currently I'm hapily listening through headphones plugged into the Audiobox iTwo which is USB connected to the Laptop.

Hopefully on the weekend I will have a go at recording with it.

One last question folks, if we wanted to add keyboard sounds to the mix, am I right in thinking that the modern little keyboards connect directly to the software via USB - IE they would bypass the interface altogether?
PreSonus Audiobox iTwo can handle mic, guitar and MIDI inputs. If you go for the bundle it also has a microphone, headphones and Studio One recording software. I've had it a short while and it's easy to use.

Surprisingly hard these days to find an inexpensive MIDI keyboard with MIDI connections. They're nearly all USB only.

  • Musictechhelpguy and Graham Cochrane from the Recording Revolution are great on YouTube, particularly Graham. I'd really recommend checking him out.
Yes to both. Musictechhelpguy for specifically (in my case) info about Logic. Graham just because he's focusing on what we know and do, not the gear we should buy. (Goes against the grain of TFB, I know, but I like him!)

    Success!

Messed around with GarageBand on the iPad connected to the Audiobox ITwo & recorded some messy fuzz guitar & put a drum track on it as well, with Logan on the drums and the setting to Follow turned on, and for something that didn't take much time/tweaking sounded pretty decent through my headphones.

    Really happy with that!

Yep will give it a go.  Do you have a Soundcloud/similar account for loading your recording music to?

Yes I do....the free one, but you won't need one. Just email an Mp3 to the address in the comp. thread .

Glad I noticed this thread, as I am doing something similar; recording guitar and bass through the THR10, but currently programming drums in Cubase. No real structures as such but will buy a mic and probably that PreSonus interface to get some 'vocals' down.
