Fingering for an 'uneven' slide ?

Hey folks

Simple question - when you are sliding on two strings from adjacent frets to non adjacent, what is the best fingering to use? 

Example to slide from 8 and 9 on the G and D string to 9 and 11 and then back to 8 and 9. 

Would you use the same two fingers (say I ndex and ring) and stretch, or use index and middle and during the slide lift middle finger and put down ring finger on 11?

A video lesson I watched suggested the latter but I'm not getting on very well with it. I'm using index and ring (with the occasional issue!) but wondered if that's a bad technique/habit to use?

1st and 2nd finger if not plucking the C/Eb diad.
1st and 2nd, then 1st and 3rd, then back to 1st 2nd if plucking the C/Eb diad.
