    Most of the time I agree, but I like having the option, maybe for twangier/cleaner stuff (occasionally).

    Strap story is great. Definitely suits it.

  • That's lovely. And no unlicensed rosewood smuggling required! I fear the neck chunk but I must try one anyway!

    It's only a fraction more than it used to be but that small amount makes a massive difference.
    Do try one, it's hard to explain but you'll get it in seconds when you play one.

    Thank you and i really appreciate everyone else's comments too.

    I haven't stopped playing it and to look at it's stunning.
    It's a league or two above anything else i've got or had and i'm very lucky to have it.

    @bluechargeboy
    Where are you in the UK?

    Edit: Just seen it - Wales.

    Well if you're up this way in Bedford, let me know and grab a cup of tea here while you play it.

    A white strat is always a wise choice. Congratulations, I'm keen to try out the new pickups. I really rate the fat 50's but every review I've see say these are great pickups.
    I would love to change my username, but I fully understand the T&C's (it was an old band nickname). So please feel free to call me Dave.

  • Good man @Alnico!! You're all right, you are. :)

    I was playing ye olde Strat Plus last night and I am definitely a single-coilist at heart.

    I keep looking at the Jackson and saying out loud........

    "NO ! You WILL need humbuckers at some point and you CAN'T do it all on a Strat !"

     @Maynehead  ................I might need help !

    Because of the size of our place and the ridiculous amount of time i spend confined here, i worked out that whether i'm in bed or not, i'm never more than 6 ft away from my Strat and for the first time in years, my amp stays plugged in all the time.

    I can't ever remember a guitar feeling this special or making me feel this good.

    I breathed quite a sigh of relief when I scrolled to the pic belown and saw that you still have the Jackson!

    :lol:

    I hope you can afford to keep both, as well as have appropriate amplification that really lets you taste those different tones.

    I can keep both and will do, i know it's just honeymoon and i'm smitten.

    The Jackson is still everything you could want from a rock superstrat and i do still love it, it's just not going to need new strings for a while that's all !

    Thanks Fender,

    The narrow-tall frets are a joy. All the height of jumbo's but without the bulk and the need for hairspray.

    What?

    Nice guitar! Enjoy :)

    I'm not a fan of fenders but this one is not bad at all. The required amount of frets, a useable trem and the best choice of colour. All you need to do now is stick a hot rails in the bridge and you're ready to rock!  ;)

    Congrats mate, you deserve it.

    Lovely guitar @Alnico - love the colour and the aged parts.

    @stickyfiddle what are tall narrow frets?

    No problem, i will let you know when it's there.
    He'll have my PRS at the same time for the same job, for probably around a week or so until i go and collect them.

    I think Dunlop call them 6105. It's literally just a skinny fret made the height of a jumbo, so you get more fretboard between frets, while keeping that ability to easily push and pull the strings for bending that you find with big frets. They also look a bit less "train track-y" than jumbos, which is nice.

    I have them on my Cabronita, Jazzmaster and Paisley Tele and they more just lovely. Even better in stainless steel. Fender have been putting them on a lot of CS stuff for a few years already but it's great to see them on a "normal people guitar"
