I quite fancy trying a Carr at some point, something Fendery most likely.

Rambler is a good place to start. Stunning tone and - in my experience - highly reliable gigging machine.

I'm still lusting after a Carr Lincoln... and now this is on the horizon! Torn.

  • More powerful than the current one so I'm guessing a lot more headroom? I love my Mercury. It just records so well. Despite having tons more gain than the Rambler, it takes pedals just as well.

  • The Mercury V is double the power of the old Merc, and the cleans are like JTM 45 cleans with slight Fender mixed in. It really breaks up like a vintage Marshall with the Boost options covering the 60's, 70's, and 80's Marshall sounds, respectively. Of course, there is an attenuator as well and reverb. When you crank it up it sounds like a Marshall stack and you get to decide which decade's stack you want to hear.

@Heavyrebel. ; I guess you should know then!!

Maybe you built my Rambler and my Raleigh. Fine amps.

  • Might have at that!   I've built 1,000+ Ramblers.  Couple hundred Raleighs.
