Switch help please!

I need a mini switch to switch between neck and bridge pickups without the middle combined position, do I need an on/on SPDT? Or could I wire a tele 3 way to not give the mixed middle position and be middle silent? Is it a jumper wire that mixes the two? or internal to the switch?

You can use a 3-way Tele too as you suggest. You only need to use one side of it, ignoring the "middle" lug.
