Klon clone noise

I've just completed the klone, using d9e diodes.
The pedal itself works great - i've hardwired it for true bypass.
All the controls work fine and it sounds awesome, however i'm getting a very high pitch single "sqeal/whine" when i turn the dual gang gain pot up about 3 quarters, and also if i turn the vol up high.
Any ideas how i can eliminate it?
Its not feedback just an annoying background noise
As i say, it works great except for this high pitched noise?
any thoughts chaps?

Have you left the buffer in front of the drive circuit? Some pedals will squeal if they aren't buffered.
 Also, does the squeal occur if powered by a battery? If not, it could be dodgy PSU filtering.

Which chip have you used for the voltage converter? If it's a 7660 you need to use a 7660S instead - the "S" is  - a plain 7660 will introduce high frequency whine into the circuit.

Most likely this.  I had that problem when I ordered some 7660 and all of the pedals whined until I switched them for 7660s

I'm using the 7660s chip and its there using battery or psu

Have you boxed it yet?  Can you post a picture of the board?

Its all boxed up but i've ordered a 7660s from bitsbox to try that incase the one of used is incorrect (although its marked as 7660s.)
