Fostex T20RP headphones?

I had a pair of Fostex T20RP headphones years ago during the 4 track portastudio days and see they are still in production.

Anyone know how they hold up these days compared to other offerings? At £120 they aren't the cheapest.

They're uncomfortable and need a fairly beefy headphone amp, but in terms of frequency response I think they're pretty good for mixing and so forth. A lot of other phones hype the high and low frequencies but the T20RPs put the emphasis in the mid-range where it's most useful.

They are planar magnetic phones, which means they use a different technology from most headphones. Most planar magnetic phones are quite pricey but some of them are amazing, especially the high-end Audeze ones. If you can stretch to the Oppo PM3 then I think they are noticeably better than the Fostex ones.
