a couple of questions,

Can I control the amp with another footswitch/midi along with effects pedals?

And

Can the fx loop be switched on permanently for all channels?

"Can the fx loop be switched on permanently for all channels?" - Yes, on the back panel, Loop Assign switch -> ON All.

Thanks, I'd not noticed the on -all option. If I want to use midi how do I do that with 1/4 inch jacks?

You'll have to get a control box that takes midi-in and outputs to 1/4 inch jacks, something like this one https://www.thomann.de/gb/g_lab_mac_44_midi_amp_mesa_boogie.htm
