I still blame @Bridgehouse for this... :D - I've always fancied one of these, as I was a big RHCP fanboy back in the Mothers Milk days, bit of eBay searching bought up this bargain, maybe not the most desirable colour (and certainly a hard one to photograph!) of Cabernet Pearl. It's a 2009 in absolutely pristine condition, came with hard case, matching Levvys strap even a spare set of strings! The previous owner put the genuine EB pick guard on, but included the pearl one, not sure how it'll stay yet.

Very happy with this purchase!!

    Love it!

I think that's a great colour actually - it's nice to see a stingray in a less popular colour.

If you fancy some flats on it I highly recommend the daddario Chromes for the stingray - they go really nicely.

Great basses and so well made. Well done!

  • Nice purchase.  I was watching this, it looked a good buy.  Congrats.  I've done the same stupid thing......Picked up a black 2001 today.  Pics later.

    Ah stingray love.

Loving mine. Gets played every day.

Bit worried when the next one appears as to how I'm going to give them equal love. Hmmm

Cheers, very hard colour to capture, some lights it's lovely and dark, other lights it's brighter, suits the bass :)

Didn't pay the price you probably saw it go for on eBay either, bargain! :) - look forward to seeing yours.

Retook the 'hanger' shot today, the reflections were getting on my nerves :)

Whilst doing it, I tried on the perl guard (original one the bass would have been fitted with), now in two minds - think it looks great with both for different reasons.

    How it is now

With the pearloid plate resting in place

  • Looks good in both shots.  So all you need now is a mint green and a torty and you're done    ;)

Torts are the best on stingrays ;)

  • Great colour, much better than the common ones.

Much prefer the black guard. White/Pearloid stingray guards look like toilet seats!!

good gas. I like that colour, way more than I would have thought, and especially with the black guard. Excellent stuff

Another vote for the black guard. Black is generally the correct choice for a Stingray.
