adverts you really can't stand

Yeah, I don't like any TV ads, but there are two at the moment that REALLY can't stand: The Flash one with the dog, I have to mute it every time (usually I just ignore ads), but the worst is the moneysupermarket one. I cannot bear the visual of that big arsed guy in shorts for some reason. The previous ads were irritating but the current one seems to have a bunch of guys in shorts and a bunch of the builders as well. 100% true, I have to turn channels the second it comes on, absolutely can't stand seeing it.

They seem to draw a lot of complaints!

  • I hate all adverts, more recently the one with the black dude who looked like he was breakdancing while having a seizure and Go Compare.

  • Just be grateful those old Halifax adverts aren't on any more featuring 'howard'. They really did used to wind me up.

Smug James Corden ones, (nice car though) No idea what he is advertising though!

Bring back or remake the "shake an Vac" ones, classic!

Some advertisers focus on grabbing attention, as opposed to inspiring sales. They still adhere to the 1930s slogan of "any publicity is good publicity". Their questionnaires ask "did you notice our advertisement?" rather than "would you buy our product?". Yet it was realised more than 20 years ago that people often remember ads, but not the product they are advertising.

There have been times when I have actively avoided the product or supplier as the result of such adverts

I like the music to the D&G "light Blue " advert. That I like this advert bothers me a bit.

  • I can't remember the last time I saw an ad on TV. I either watch BBC or I watch  on a DVR  and pause it, make a cup of tea and then sit down 15 minutes into the programme so I can jump ahead whenever ads come on.

Re: Moneysupermarket - you will have to tolerate this kind of AD now along with ambiguous usage of toilets and prison cells and terminology applied in schools...

The ads on LBC (radio) are almost universally shockingly bad.

Half of them seem to have been made on a budget of about 50p.

The rest seem to be lower budget.
