Interesting. The KOT has been my mainstay for a few years now; tried several alternatives but nothing quite matches up for what I want. My Dr Z Z-Drive comes very close, but I still tend to go back to the KOT.

I like the look of it, but I suspect it's aimed at higher gain uses than a kot.
    I'm debating eclipse or be-od.

Yeah same here- I'll probably end up with both.

The KOT isn't a high gain device- if you put both sides up full on the KOT it gets into fat crunch verging on high gain territory but it doesn't do Friedman/CAA/Bogner XTC levels of gain.

Ditto.    I'm planning Eclipse,  Kot and Veteran fuzz as the drive section of my new board.

Correct. Mine has the high gain option on the red side, but even then it's not really high gain, and that's not what the pedal was ever intended for.

For some reason this read as "please read my new review"  :D

It's  not a review, more is my opinion sound? I don't review anything, but I value you lot and your opinion, so thought I would ask.

My editor and I sort of argued over it a little you see.

I don't know what other people think when listening to that review video, but other than having two foot switches, this pedal doesn't seem to have very much in common with the KOT.

    It's called 'click bait' ;-)
    Red ones are better.

Anyway, the best 'KOT killer' is a drive you like and a boost you like.
    Red ones are better.

They reckon it'll do low gain, so that is why I made the comparison. Pete Thorn's demo is a little bit on the OTT side, so if it sounds as good in low gain then I think it would be a KOT alternative.

Since the KOT circuit is essentially two Guv'nor pedals tweaked.

I found the KOT pedal to be good, but way over hyped for what it is, so if Suhr can make this one for $260 and with no ridiculous wait list ,  then I think it would have an impact on the sales of the KOT.
