Amp splitter box thing

What's Hot

hi there just wondering what options there are out there for splitting into two amps. I want to run a wet dry rig so will tap off my pedalboard after the drive pedals to go to one amp and then after the delay reverb as normal to the other amp. There's the radial aby big shot thing, gigrig gizmo otherwise I'm struggling for something inexpensive. Ideally I want a box with a phase reversal, no footswitch malarkey, ground lift and passive if possible. I'm sure I'm missing some obvious product out there that's not loads of money? My amps don't have loops or anything fancy, it's a 5e3 and champ.

    Bright Onion Active ABY?

he would probably make you whatever you want if you'd rather have no foot switches.

Cool... any passive options or is there a good reason why not?

I've got a feeling that it can't be passive because of phase / hum issues

Sounds like you need an AB/Y box but with it permanently on Y (i.e. A+B)?

Yup! Maybe I'm over complicating it by wanting to do the whole wet/dry thing but still... it would be cool.

If a Boss LS-2 could do this (I don't know if it can) it would probably have another couple of options you hadn't thought of.

Lehle little dual will do this perfectly.
    What's your budget?

EDIT: Didn't read about not wanting footswitches. My mistake.
These are really good, used they go for about £100.

does everything you require as far as I know and also phase reversal
i have a couple and they seem to work fine

I got the Radial Twin City....does the job perfectly. I wouldn't go passive myself.

That ^ gets you the isolation and phase flip (rev wired cable) so long as you drive it from a buffered source. Doubt it would work well from a daft "true bypass" pedal.

    Dave.

I use the passive Radial Bigshot ABY because I didn't want to use batteries, and it's excellent.

Output B is slightly duller than output A if you're just going from guitar to your amps, but that issue disappears if you have a buffered pedal in the chain (ie, any pedal which isn't true bypass). The pedal doesn't have to be switched on btw.

Having identical-sounding outputs is critical for me as I use a pair of identical amps, but even with guitar/wireless/amps it works perfectly - you just need something powered in the chain.

As you're using it to basically split your pedalboard into two amps the passive version will be fine, and it has phase reversal and ground lift.

Ah, just read about the footswitches, although mine lives in the back of one of my combos so I never touch them.
