Budget active monitors?

I think that's what I'm asking about. For my son who is using Logic at college and FL Studio (?) at home for making the hippety hoppety bippety boppety music on his computer. Something so he can hear the end product more clearly ( he's used to listening on  studio monitors at college although I've no idea which) . Slightly limited physical space to place them and budget as limited as possible (!) but a quick Google suggests they exist sub £100 so I'll say budget £150. 
What's best ? Ta.

That's a tricky one....active for that budget is going to be limited, maybe Behringer ?

Don't bother buying anything at that price- it is a complete waste of time.

The best thing you can do is buy the Event 20/20 BAS that are on the forum at the moment.
They are a bargain but over your budget a tad.

Otherwise, get some used stereo speakers from eBay and a decent power amp.

Cheers all. For proper reference he can use the ones at college, this is for the back end of our dining room. There are some Behringer ones and the Presonus ones offer some flexibility which might give them a second life as a bedroom stereo if my son doesn't become the next Dr Dre.

The presonus Eris E4.5 are excellent. I chose them over the bigger speakers in the Eris range as I found them more balanced overall. I had a chance to blind test the full Eris range and my ears just preferred the 4.5's. Check out this review:

Thanks @octatonic for recommending my Events (and I agree, they are a bargain!) but I also have some Alesis M1 520's which are very good for the size and another bargain at £120 delivered!

If there's loads of sub bass I what he's doing it may be better to get decent headphones (audio technical mt50?) and some 2.1 speakers to listen out load ... well that's what I'd do ...
