Neutrik mono jack for fender vintage style dual footswitch?

My admittedly bodged solder joint on the current pancake jack has gone again. These seem very prone to shorting with a less-than-perfect solder joint - can I use a guitar-type neutrik right angle jack, which I find much easier to solder?

    Yes, as long as it's the same type (mono/TS or stereo/TRS).
