Nearfield Monitors upgrade?

I have a pair of Event TR8's, had them for years and thinking of upgrading to something more powerful later this year.

Considering Genelec 8040Bs or Mackie HR824MK2s 

Anyone got a view on these monitors or can recommend some alternatives?

Never heard the Mackies.  The Genelecs are nice.  In a similar price range I went for Focal Solos, though their price seems to have increased since then.

Between the Genelecs and Focals the Genelecs have a bit more (and deeper) low end but I prefer the presentation of the upper mids and higher frequencies on the Focal... they sounded more 'right' to me and mixes I was familiar with sounded a little more how I expected, while still being easy to listen to, if that can be quantified.  It's a personal thing for sure and at that price point I'd consider talking to KMR and seeing if you can demo before buying.
