So, I've never had a cab built before. Yep, I know, but I've always bought 'off-the-shelf-stuff'.
A few months ago I bought a lovely blonde Redplate head, and so started searching for someone to make a Custom matching cab. Had to be matching - OCD and all that...
Anyway, enter Paul at Zilla Cabs. I exchanged a few emails, and the bloke has the patience of a saint ! He offered great advice, and even sent out matching samples to get the colour spot on.
You know, the big shock was how well made it is made. I bet it doesn't even come across in the photos, but the cab is superbly finished, and is absolutely bang on in every way. Very very impressed indeed.
It even smells gorgeous !!!!
I went with a FatBaby 1x12, with a convertible back;and it sounded superb straight out the box. It really did. Just wait till that V30 is broken in...
Anyway, cheers Paul and your team. I'll be back again.
I am absolutely delighted and made up, I really am

Congrats on the new purchase.
Well, the sound ?!
I've only had the cab for less than 24 hours, but it sounded pleasing straight away. I thought the FatBaby, mirroring a bigger 2x12, might be TOO bass for my liking.
But no such worries. Even with the convertible closed, the bass is firm, warm and precise. Conversely, the treble and mids do not seem to suffer.
In all, Id say a very sweet sounding cab that can sound 'full', yet still surprisingly sweet and subtle...
That's the v30, they have some bass but it's pretty controlled. I was going to ask why you chose that, actually, as I've always had you down for a scooped sound!
Glad you like it though. I've seen zillas at gigs and they always look top notch.
I took the advice of Keith from Redplate, who says that the RP50R favours the V30... ive also had a couple before and just like em !
