I've seen how this stuff escalates with you, it starts small but it doesnt take long...
Vintage, artist associated, stereo JC120 setup incoming by the middle of next week I reckon

No, I reckon he's turned over a new leaf. Small, practical amps and good value guitars only from now on, eh @Gassage?

  • I had a JC120A R&P and it was incredible - just a bit too clean for my needs at the time. I wish I still had it now. The chorus really is a thing of beauty.

Yes it is and it takes pedals and modellers quite well - my Strymon Riverside produces a nice crunch tone through it.

I really want it for late night noodling thru the Mothership©. I reckon it'll do this well.

  • These sound really nice, I'd be interested to hear your thoughts.

Warm, balanced and clean with just enough bass, mids and treble to sound "flawless" is what I associate with jc amps. Oh, and lush stereo chorus. The demos support that this manages all of this.

    Also, smart looking or what?!

Congratulations. I hope you'll both be very happy. :)

Lovely little amp which I would love to try out.

I was gonna say, marrying an amp is one way of ensuring you keep it for a bit I guess ;)

    OK, so first impressions

Really clean- takes pedals in a way that is incredible- overdrive doesn't go out of control, the mods through it (onboard or outboard) are strident and clear.

It is very powerful and could easily be used at a small gig, esp if you slung a 1 x 12 cab under it.

If someone let me play it with the amp a BF Deluxe casing I'd declare it to be incredible.

Chrous- lush, thick typical CE2 sound. Reverb, lovely and deep.

Only slight downside- it's a little bright with SC's but I've not fiddled with the EQ too much yet.

Basically, whatever you put in comes out very unaffected- it is very accurate in a good way.

    8 Gassage stars.

I currently have my JC77 next to the Lazy J in a loop. When I want chorus (at least once every six months) i hit the loop switch and bingo, ultimate swirly chorus AND Lazy J goodness

I think having an amp specifically to handle individual effects is a great idea.

Especially if you're an amp manufacturer....

The Mothership is Steve Vai's studio.
