What valve amp for £500?

Mainly home playing but I want a tube amp that can give a good clean tone at home volume, can be a little loud when required but not gig volume.

Ideally, I would like a good clean and drive tone either one channel or a separate drive channel, not fussed. Not talking drop tuned metal but more Sex Pistols, Clash etc.

Extra drives etc can come from Helix.

What would you recommend I consider?

Alternatively I let a guitar go and would have a budget of £2K!

Jet City Custom 22. Proper clean channel, fun drive channel (ie a more traditional setup than the usual crunch/drive arrangement in Jet City amps). Plenty of budget left over, too.

I have a Helix...

but after trying a Yamaha DXR10 powered speaker, which I didn't like, I want a real amp for louder moments. I want the best of both worlds.

I have a laney vc15 that is a superb small home valve amp and gets loud. I'd imagine the vc30 would be awesome. Seem sensibly priced out there too. Switch to the drive channel and it growls well too.

What about the "Mondeo" of amps? The Fender Hot Rod Deluxe III? Can get used from £500?
