GigRig Doubler with a different power supply?

I currently have a Strymon Ojai power supply, and all the outputs are isolated, running on 9V with max 500 mA current draw. If I wanted to power an 18V pedal (in this case the Dr Scientist The Elements, which can run at 18V), would I be able to use a GigRig Doubler with the Ojai, or would I have to use it with a GigRig power supply?

I can't see any reason why I won't work - I assume the doubler uses a transformer to up the voltage so as long as the supply can cope I don't see a problem and the strymon has plenty of power.

I used a Gigrig supanova with mine and it worked fine.

It'll be fine, I use one with a Cioks DC8 with no issues.

is a Y cable not a cheaper option? (I.e. doubling up the 9V)

I need to use all 5 outputs, 3 of the pedals are powerful digital ones and the other is a compressor, so can't do any daisy chaining from the other outputs.

Cheaper options for 9-18v include the Diago one and also there is an Xotic one around too.
