Have you used a DE-7 before? The oscillation on them really is good.

I'd used one ages and ages ago when I first started playing guitar but sold it very quickly. Picked this one up for something like £30, and it's just got this awesome character!

  • If you buy pedals overseas can you just put them in your suitcase ? I have never done it. But will look next time I am away. Same with guitars can they go on the plane with you or do they have to go into the hold

When I flew out to Japan ANA had no problem with me taking my guitar on the plane and putting it behind the last set of seats in business class - they're right next to the toilets, so no danger of anyone stepping on the thing.

But on the way back they took issue with it and wanted me to check it into the hold. I politely refused and asked them if they could accommodate me the same way they did on the way out. In the end the check in desk said they'd leave it up to the flight crew, who fortunately allowed me to put it into one of the overhead compartments. So basically it seems like it's luck of the draw.

With pedals, yes... suitcase is fine. Just bubble wrap them and make sure they're surrounded by all your clothes. I've never had a problem.

I take pedals as hand luggage. Having worked in the holiday industry of 6 years... don't trust hold luggage to anything valuable.

    Gotta be honest...

The Ibanez DE7 is now one of my favourite delay pedals ever.

Given that you can stamp repeatedly on pedals and they don't seem to mind, I reckon they are beyond the attentions of any baggage handler.
