Ok so I popped my recently acquired Dunlop GCB 95 on the board, and powered it up, nothing.
the other pedals work fine off the same plug, am I missing something super obvious????

there no battery in it, does it need one?

cheers

Not if it has a power cable in.

By 'nothing', do you mean total silence in either mode, or works in bypass but not with the effect on?

In that case it's either a faulty switch, a fault in the effect circuit or a bad connection in the power jack. Does it work on a battery? That would eliminate the first two.

    Ahhhh
you see I thought I was being really clever by bolting it to the board, I fear my enthusiasm overtook my common sense.

Ill have to unbolt it from the board to check it with a batt.

    bums.

I had a wah once where the power lead end wasn't quite long enough to make a connection. Tried a different cable and it worked

@Cabicular and @hotpickups for the win, trimmed a bit off the plastic around the barrel of the power jack and hey presto!!!

Can I ask what attracted you to that wah? It's a bit old school these days with all the other options around?

I also used to own one, in fact it was my very first pedal, my dad bought it for me on my 14th birthday.

After watching the Dave Weiner pedal show special, I realised its all anyone needs in a wah.

1: Mick Ronson's half cocked Wah sound
2: The Wah solo section in Barclay James Harvest's 'For No-One' (@3.57) I used to emulate it with a 18" Ruler and stapler for the wah when revising my O Levels in the 70s! You can't get more 'Old School' than that!
