Peavey Bravo 112 lacking punch

A mate has a peavey bravo 112 which has been in storage for some time and although it appears to be working its lacking bite that it had prior to storage, it sounds the way a guitar with active pickups sounds when the battery is flat ! Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated thanks.

Check the valves are ok. Clean inside the jack sockets. Try placing a patch cable in the fx loop.  Would be the first things to try.  

While you're at it, if you open it up and look in the chassis it might need a jolly good clean out, the fan in them can make it quite dusty and grubby inside.  Check filter caps for obvious damage.

Make sure the cables to the reverb tank are secure.

Iff that doesn't work, take it to a reputable amp tech...
