Going rate for a 2001 Les Paul Custom in white?

I don't really like Les Pauls, but a friend brought a 2001 model alpine white Custom to rehearsal tonight and it was one of those 'you must buy me' guitars. Easy to play, ballsy but not overly so, snappy and with plenty of punch in the trebles. Loads of sustain too. I was surprised and am now pondering an offer.

The guitar was clean, fading to yellow on the neck, decent frets, no breaks, no major chips but the odd mark here and there with some buckle rash on the rear. Pretty heavy but not completely boat anchor-like. Had a plain black case, flat top lid, no Gibson logo, no shroud, 5 latches with one on the back edge of the case. Truss rod needed a tweak as there was loads of relief (like..loads) yet it played really nicely.

What's a reasonable price for one of these?

I bought a Black 1999 Custom for £1800 middle of last year which I thought was fair. However, it is all original and in fantastic condition. Beforehand, I saw anywhere between £1500 for heavy modded or heavy wear  to £2300 for pristine 'unplayed' condition. There is also a little variance for colour as well, but would suggest the two posts above are fairly spot on depending on condition.

The case at that time would have been the brown shell case with the gold Gibson logo and plush purple inner lining...great period of time for Customs.

Sold to someone else. I was offered a good deal but ultimately on reflection I neither need nor really want a Gibson Les Paul.

This one had a plain black case with dark grey interior, it didn't feel like a Gibson case, though it did fit well and had the 'made in Canada' tag. A moot point now anyway
