It does look quite similar, it's the same basic shape but without out the horns, it even basically has the roughly same control positions. Then again the Esprit is meant to be a Firebird/Explorer/RD hybrid.
Hmm. Not seeing the St V as a direct copy of the Fret King, tbh. The Fret King has that Trev Wilkinson trait of being just *slightly* wrong in every way...

I really like the MM Armada too - an unusual design and not associated with any particular artist as far as I know.
tbh I think both are cool designs regardless of the artist involved. Although Alberts look less cool on him than they do in isolation.
