I am after a guitar with a Floyd Rose trem for my new showroom, been looking at the RG series and dinky's, but I am struggling to justify actually buying another guitar for a feature that I probably won't use allot of.
So I also have an Epiphone flying V like in the link below, that is actually a nice playing guitar, I bought it as I like the neck on it, changed the pickups and it plays very well for budget instrument, so I am thinking about buying a trem unit to fit on the guitar, then while I am at it I may make a new scratch guard... then I might actually strip the whole thing for a new paint job and maybe a flashy maple cap and do away with the scratch guard all together ..... etc
What do you guys think? ....easy route or rabbit hole

its easier if it's a bolt on neck and you can play with neck angles.

What trem did you use? are the £70 ones ok or should I spend the £150+ real ones
if you are adding a top you can always wedge it to get the neck angle you want, but that is definite rabbit hole territory

pricey, tho
Much easier - smaller rout and no messing about with neck/body angles, or even working out the post positions.
I would also definitely leave the pickguard - the '67-style is the best-looking of any V, largely because of it.
If you really want a guitar with a Floyd I'd buy some sort of Superstrat.

I'm a big Schaller fan.

thanks, will have a look at them too.
You can sometimes find them second hand too - a lot got fitted in the 80s and later taken off.
